How Merchandise Supports Families

When you buy or sell Be The Light CIC merchandise, you’re not just exchanging money for a product, you’re funding care where it’s needed most.

With the consent of the CIC Regulator, 40% of our surplus profits are donated directly to Amelia’s Light, our charitable initiative providing emergency financial and emotional support to families in hospital. The remaining 60% sustains our operations, ensuring we can continue to grow and serve.

This means:
– A wristband helps towards a meal for a parent that is in hospital.
– A wellbeing kit mirrors the ones we deliver to families, offering comfort during long stays.
– A journal helps towards offering a parent 3 meals a day whilst in hospital at their child’s bedside.

Merchandise creates a cycle: you receive something meaningful, and a family in crisis receives relief.

“When my colleague gave me a Be The Light wristband, it opened the door to sharing our story. It reminded me that we weren’t alone – that a community stood with us.”

Why Merchandise Matters

Fundraising often feels like a big undertaking, such as organising events, securing sponsorships, or rallying a team. Merchandise makes it simple. Anyone can take part by purchasing an item or helping to sell them.

Merchandise fundraising:

  • Engages communities easily: schools, offices, and local groups can sell small, affordable items.
  • Raises awareness: every wristband or tote bag sparks a conversation about the families we support.
  • Provides sustainable income: unlike one-off donations, merchandise creates a repeatable fundraising stream.

For businesses, merchandise offers a dual benefit: it’s a tangible way to engage staff in CSR while funding a cause that resonates with families across the UK. For individuals, it’s a way to carry a piece of hope with you knowing your small purchase adds up to something much bigger.
