![]() Are you considering getting a Tarot reading, but you’re not entirely sure about what’s involved, and how it can benefit you? Here’s just a few things to think about when you’re deciding whether to have a professional Tarot reading. What a tarot reading can do for you My readings are not simply about predicting what's going to happen in your life over the next few weeks or months, whilst I can do this kind of reading I believe it's much more helpful to tell you what’s going on now and to ask the question ‘what do I need to know?’ rather than what you want to know. This helps to highlight the aspects of your life you may not be fully aware of at the moment, such as what influences are acting on you, what conscious and subconscious control you are exerting on your life, and how these various factors may manifest in the future. By putting particular emphasis on what blocks you are currently experiencing (internally and externally), how you can act more effectively in your current situation, and what parts of your personality and life you are currently neglecting. An excellent way of gaining a fresh perspective on your life, or on a specific situation. The tarot can also shed new light on old emotional problems, from this and past lives, it can highlight negative aspects of relationships, suggest parts of your life or personality that are being, and help you to make more balanced, insightful decisions. The Tarot can be viewed as an analytic tool for getting a clearer, more detached view of what you are doing right now, and where you are heading. People often come for a reading at key points in there lives, one thing is certain, everything changes, nothing is static and the tarot can help to guide us with the challenges we face such as:
A Tarot reading is basically a very simple process. A Tarot deck consists of 78 cards, each of which has a specific meaning associated with it. To perform a reading the cards have to be shuffled, and then laid out in order in a specific pattern – each place in the pattern, or spread, represents a different concept or idea. Although there are several ‘traditional’ spreads, you can in fact make up new spreads, or adapt old ones, as seems most useful. At the start of a reading I ask the client to set their intention for the reading and to think about what they need to know, this process is helped by choosing an oracle card which can act as a guide to the session. To be honest most people say they are looking for general guidance, and this is fine, the cards generally narrow things down to the heart of the matter very quickly. Clients are able to choose from a selection of crystals and pick up any they are called to. I will then call in my guides and the client shuffles the cards and thinks about what they need to know before I lay out a spread on the table between us. By looking at which cards have turned up, their position in relation to each other, and their placement in the spread as a whole, I'll be able to talk to the client about different aspects of their life, and current feelings about the world. The cards tell me a story which I am able to relay to the client, then follow up any specific queries with more detailed spreads. If the client is in need of it, and this usually becomes clear during the session we will do some energy work, past life work or perhaps some work with the pendulum. A full tarot session lasts around an hour, and usually gives time for three of four detailed spreads, and a fairly in depth consideration of the clients current concerns. Photographs of cards and recordings can be taken and I always supply writing materials although some clients prefer to bring their own journal whilst others take no record at all. This is all fine, whatever resonates with you is good for me:) By the end of a tarot reading clients will have a lot of new information which they can then apply to make good decisions about what they are doing in their lives. A Tarot reading should leave a client feeling as though they have a much better grip on what is happening in their life, and why they currently feel the way they do. Hopefully this will allow them to make fast and effective progress in whatever areas of their life most concern them. So why delay? get in touch now to book your reading:) And while you do that listen to some relaxing music and start creating the calm in your life you are longing for:)
